You can create a new property in the property overview. There are multiple ways to add properties to your catalog. You can add properties from other catalogs within your organization, import properties from the IFC standard / bSDD-database or manually create a new property.
Manually creating a new property
Fill out as much of the following information as necessary to define your property:
Name
Data Type
Depending on which data type you choose there are different options to finetune your property. If you choose the data type βdecimalβ for example, you have the option to specify the unit. The available rules are also dependent on the chosen data type.
Description
Property Set (DE: Merkmalsgruppe)
This allows you to group your properties so that you can work with them more efficiently later, by for example linking entire property sets to specifications, instead of selecting every property individually.
This is also per default used as the IFC property set.Domains (DE: Disziplin)
Organizing your properties into domains allows you to easily keep track of which property is relevant for whom. This can also be done on the property set level to manage the domain for all properties within the property set at once.
π‘ Select βCreate additional propertiesβ if you want to create multiple properties in a row.
Importing properties
From other catalogs
If you already have a catalog, you may import your properties from that source. Just select βCatalogsβ under property source and select which project and which catalog you want to import your property from. Search for individual properties or use the βGroupingβ function to import entire property sets.
From IFC
By navigating to βIFCβ as your property source you can select properties from the IFC-standard to add to your catalog. Just select which IFC version you want to import properties from and search for the properties that you need.
From BIM Portal
In the propery creation dialogue, navigate to βBIM Portalβ. Select the organization that you want to import properties from and search for the name of the wanted properties. Select it via the checkbox and continue with adding further properties to your selection or by submitting.
From bSDD
The bsDD import is not available yet. If you are interested in importing data from there, please reach out to us.
π‘ Make sure to check all of your selected properties on the import list, to double check if you have selected all of the correct ones. You can select properties from multiple sources and check them here to make sure that they do not overlap.
