Check the following article on how to configure the plugin before attributing: Configure your Plugin
After selecting the requirements (and in Revit: synchronizing the shared parameters), you can go to the Attribute module.

1. Step: Select elements in the model
First, you have to select one or multiple elements in the model that you want to attribute.

🔜 Advanced selection filters are coming soon!
In the meantime, use the native filtering tools in Revit or Desite to aid your selection.
After selecting the elements, there are three possible scenarios:
The selected elements are already classified.
The plugin recognizes the classification based on IFC classes, Revit category or classifying properties, automatically selects the specifications and shows the associated properties. Go on with Attributing.
The selected elements are not classified.
You have to select a specification to classify the selected elements and see the associated properties. Go on with Select the specification. Some of the selected elements are not classified.
You have to choose whether you want to select the unclassified or the classified elements.
2. Step: Select the specification
When your selected elements are not classified, you have to select a specification. This action will automatically apply the classification to the model.

💡Use the “Search” function to easily find specifications even in very large catalogs
Define missing classifications
When the classification is not defined precisely, you will be prompted to specify the classifying information:
Example: Multiple valid options for IFC classifications:

Example: Multiple valid values for classifying properties

Change existing specification
If elements are already classified, the plugin selects the matching specification automatically. You can still change the specification, depending on the system and classification:
In Revit: You can change the specification if it uses different IFC entities or classifying properties for classification.
⚠️ LastBIM cannot change the Revit category. In Desite: You can change the specification if it uses different classifying properties.
⚠️ IFC entity/type changes are not supported.
3. Step: Attributing
Once a specification is assigned, the plugin displays all required properties filtered by:
Selected information levels
Selected domains
Existing values will be automatically identified and displayed in the form.
Fill in the missing values directly in the plugin. Changes are saved to the model instantly — no need to manually submit.
Understanding how the plugin works
How does the plugin apply the classification?
Classifying Properties:
When the specification is classified by a property, the plugin will check if these properties already exist and match with a specification. This way, elements can be classified automatically. If the specification has to be selected manually, the plugin will automatically create the classifying properties for the element.IFC classification in Revit:
In Revit, the plugin will read and write the parameters “Export to IFC As” (German: “In IFC exportieren als”) and “Export Type to IFC As” (German: “Vordefinierter IFC-Typ”).
When these parameters are empty, the plugin will check the default mapping from Revit categories to IFC to find a matching specification. The default category mapping currently can only be read in Revit 2023 and 2024.
