Dear LastBIM users,

The issue has been resolved and LastBIM is fully available again. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding!

The cause was that an imported catalog unintentionally had about 1.500 combinations of information levels. Querying those and all assignments to properties, kept our servers busy for some time, leading to the short times of outage.

We have now implemented the necessary optimizations to prevent this from happening again.

🆕 Invite your Colleagues to Projects

It is easier now to invite people from your organisation to your projects. Instead of entering the email addresses manually, you can now choose from a dropdown to add your colleagues.

🪲 Bugfix for Shared Parameter File Export

Recently, the shared parameter file was exported with the encoding UTF-8, leading to problems with umlauts in the parameter names in Revit. With this update the export will generate the file using the encoding UTF-16 LE again which will ensure that parameters with umlauts can be correctly imported in Revit.

If you have experienced issues with umlauts in your parameter names, export the file again. You can also check the encoding simply by opening the file in a text editor where the encoding is typically shown at the right bottom corner.

A new version of the Revit plugin is now available for installation. It includes performance optimizations, preparations for upcoming features, and fixes the issue where Revit crashes when clicking "Manage Links".

⚡ Improved Performance for Large Selections

• Performance: We’ve made under-the-hood changes to enhance performance when working with very large selections during attribution.

• Control Over Loading: The plugin no longer automatically loads attribution data for large selections to avoid unnecessary wait times. Instead, you’ll be explicitly prompted to start the attribution process.

  

🆕 Property Search in the Attribution View

You can now search for features in the attribution view. This is especially useful in large catalogs with many features per component.

Why Is the Installation File Larger?

This version includes an embedded browser, which increases the file size. Here’s why:

The default browser used by Revit received a Microsoft update that causes Revit to crash when clicking "Manage Links" while a plugin using this browser is running.

Solution:
We’ve temporarily integrated an additional browser to ensure stability. Once Microsoft fixes the issue, we’ll release a leaner version without the extra browser.
