New Attribution & Validation Features | New Revit Plugin!

With this update we targeted the most common struggles when working with the Revit plugin. From attributing project information, finding the txt file for the IFC export to knowing what is happening.

While most of the update focuses on the Revit plugin, all non-Revit-specific improvements are also available in the Desite plugin.

To access the new features, improvements and bug fixes, you will need to update your plugin by running the installer again. If you do not want to use the new features you can skip updating your plugin.

New Features

  • Attribute project information in Revit 📝
When you are in the attribution module in the plugin you can now select to attribute the project information. This way you can edit all information from the same interface now.

  • Validate all visible elements ✅
With this new option you do not have to select all elements, which will especially with large models save a lot of time. Instead the plugin will validate all elements that are visible in the current view. - Also available in the Desite plugin!

  • Download txt file for IFC export in Revit plugin 📥
The IFC mapping file can now directly be downloaded inside the plugin, so you do not have to switch to the platform for the download. (No update needed)

  • Export shared parameters for Revit 📥
When you need the shared parameter file for Revit you can download this now from the platform. (No update needed)

  • Assign parameters to Revit categories ↔️
If you want to see the parameters in the parameter palette right from the start, you can now assign the parameters to the Revit categories based on the assignments inside the specifications.
Edit: This feature requires the mapping of specifications on Revit categories.

Improvements

  • Visual feedback for attribution ✔️
We added a little loading spinner that will confirm that the value entered via the plugin was successfully written to the model in Revit.

  • Loading bar after selecting elements for attribution ⌛
When selecting a large number of elements for attribution the loading of the properties might take a while. A loading bar will now indicate what is happening. (No update needed)

  • Collapse all results in validation results table:
Collapse all specifications and issues at once instead of one by one. This will make the handling of the result table much easier, especially when the results table is very long. (No update needed)

  • Synchronization of parameters:
The synchronization will now also update the setting “HideWhenNoValue” and the parameter group.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed synchronization issue for “Length” parameters

  • Dropdown built-in parameter in Revit cannot be written: Properties like “Phase created” can now be written via the plugin.
